Common CoverApp questions
CoverApp is currently available on Android apps’ in your device’s Play Store or click on the button labelled ‘Download App’ at the top – right corner of this page to download. Once you’ve downloaded for the first time, create an account to begin using the App. We currently offer home contents insurance in Nairobi and its environs. We’ll be rolling out to the additional counties gradually.
You don’t have an android device? No worries, we’ll eventually have the Web App to incorporate other operating systems’ device users and as an alternative platform.
For the assets you will have uploaded and saved (ONLY) in the app, they will be insured accordingly depending on your choice of cover against the following;
- Accidental & malicious damage
- Fire (smoke & flames)
- Flood and water damage
- Natural disasters being earthquake, volcanic eruption, subterranean fire, lightning
- Riot & Strike aftermath
NOTE: Mechanical and electrical faults do not count. Also, wear tear and depreciation of an asset is not a factor. See what is excluded below to find out more.
- Wear & tear and depreciation
- Electrical and mechanical breakdown
- Losses outside the territorial limits
- Theft by a relative
- Loss of items in the vehicles unless in locked boot or locker
Once you download the app, it will take you less than 5 minutes to get covered
Once we have received all the necessary documents from you and your claim is approved, we will pay your claim within 48 hours.
App related questions
The process is guided and we insure specific electronics, home appliances and furniture on-the-go. You can keep track of your insured items under the “My Assets” tab within the main menu of the app
Click on the claims tab on the main menu and the process is guided from there.
Once you are within the app, you can make payment using some of the options we have including Mpesa, Airtel Money, Visa and Mastecard. Payments have been integrated and you do not need to get out of the app to pay. Everything is done on-the-go. We are still expanding our payment options and you are free to suggest what works best for you for us to include.
